CNN Mar. 18, 2013: President Obama criticized a minority of the Senate on Wednesday for helping defeat a proposal to expand background checks on gun purchases. Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin and Republican Sen. Pat Toomey put together a bipartisan plan that aimed to close the so-called gun show loophole by extending background checks to purchases made at such shows.
